FFA requests parents to participate in the survey approved by Hinduja Hospital to help track how our children are today post their diagnosis which was a while ago…
———–

Dear Sir/ Madam,

We, at Hinduja Hospital, are conducting interviews to collect information as part of a research study titled ‘Long-term outcomes in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders’.

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) may develop different levels of social interaction and communication abilities as they grow older. In India, the long-term outcomes of children with ASDs have not been studied so far. Therefore, with our study, we are trying to examine how children with ASDs fare in terms of mental function, language, social and behavioral abilities as they grow older. We will also examine if there are any risk factors that can affect the development of these abilities. This study has been approved by the Hinduja Hospital Institutional Review Board.

We would like to invite you to participate in a telephonic interview for this study because your child has been diagnosed with ASD in the past.
This interview will take about 15 minutes and will have questions to determine your child’s present mental function, language, social & behavioral skills, for example: Can your child speak now? Does he have friends of his age?
We will also ask about your child’s psychological/ diagnostic evaluation reports (for example : CARS score) that may have been conducted in the past.

Your participation may or may not benefit you directly; how ever the study results should help health care providers and institutes offering support services, in understanding the needs and challenges faced by affected children as they grow older.

Your participation is completely voluntary and will not cause any harm or inconvenience. You do not need to answer questions that make you feel uncomfortable or that you do not want to answer.

All information obtained in this interview will be kept strictly confidential and used for scientific purposes only. Your name and other identifying information will not be made publicly available.

If you would like to participate in this study, please contact us at this number: 9930743961
Or you can even send us your current phone number/s and the time that would be convenient for you for the telephonic interview at this email id: vrajeshudani@yahoo.co.in

Thanking you,

Sincerely,
